Our Board, Partners & Advisory Council

Our 95% minority Board & Strategic Advisory Council directly reflect Cultivate's 96% minority community.

DEI, racial equity, and community voice are at the heart of our Board’s composition and Cultivate’s mission.  As we continue to grow our Board of Directors to between 10-12 members, we are all united in our vision to elevate opportunities and pathways for historically underrepresented and marginalized individuals.

Just as we've built a 95% minority Board & Strategic Advisory Council, Cultivate is committed to hiring a team that is rooted in and directly reflects our 96% minority community constituents as our nonprofit organization grows.

Community-based collaborators have been instrumental in working hand-in-hand to develop a vision for revitalizing Cultivate's six acres into a thriving community wellness, learning and sustainability hub. Partnerships with best-practice providers and operators are central to our mission to provide high-quality, evidenced-based and comprehensive programs, services and economic benefit to our local community.

By bringing together highly regarded organizations, Cultivate's K-8th grade public school (Academy for Global Citizenship),  Early Childhood Center (Start Early), Health Clinic (Esperanza Health Centers), and Urban Farm (Urban Growers Collective), will thrive through the collective power of collaboration.

Powered by a group of community leaders, professionals and lifelong southwest side residents, our Strategic Advisory Council provides volunteer leadership and wide-ranging areas of expertise to guide the Cultivate Collective's development and community-led ethos.

We have assembled a diverse group of leaders with expertise in the fields of Urban Agriculture, Communications, Food Systems, Sustainability, Early Childhood Learning, Healthy Schools, Law, Finance, Public Housing, Education, Community Engagement, and Neighborhood and Economic Development.
